Sometimes, it’s fun to look back. And there’s no better time than on the night of a Full Moon. It’s at this phase in the cycle when you can clearly see how far you’ve come and let go of anything (with gratitude) that no longer serves you.
In honor of tonight’s special Strawberry Supermoon, let’s take this opportunity to throw it back…
I found an old “Untitled” blog post in my drafts (one among many), and it started out like this…
So, it’s only a few days into the new year—the big 2-0-2-0! How’s everybody doing?
It reminded me that at the time, many of us weren’t doing so great. And in reading it back, it also somehow feels like a foreshadowing that things were only going to get worse.
But it’s like The Tower card in Tarot. It may seem like a scary omen, but a crumbling of sorts can be necessary for growth. Sometimes we have to go through some shit to transform our lives into something amazing.
A phoenix doesn’t just exist; it is born from a burning fire.
After a mere two months from that January 4th entry, we entered lockdown due to the pandemic. Seemingly overnight, my entire company went fully remote. We took the littles out of daycare and the bigs were sent home until virtual classes were established. We had groceries delivered and cleaned all containers with Clorox wipes before bringing them inside. So much unknown. So much fear.
It was a fucking wild time, and it absolutely blows my mind how many shifts and rebirths we’ve been through. I mean this personally, but also Universally.
It’s like when you’re watching a movie where the protagonist is completely oblivious to what’s going on around them and you wish someone would just grab their shoulders and shake them until they come to their senses.
This is what the pandemic did to a lot of us who were living like robots—wake up, commute to work, spend 8-9 hours at the office “working,” commute home, watch TV, and go to bed. (And don’t forget lots of coffee, some food, and hours of scrolling over the course of the day).
The pandemic took us by the shoulders and forced us to wake up from the black mirror trance… to step out of the production line. But it was less of a shake up and more of a Universal quake.
And we’re still experiencing the aftershocks. Some of us still aren’t okay in some way, shape, or form.*
We’ve been through a lot over the last couple (crazy and uncertain) years—with ups and downs, gains and losses. But isn’t that kind of the point of a lifetime? We’re here to experience it all.
And guess what! We are meant to be here at this time in history.
CURVEBALL: We CHOSE this.
Why? Because our souls said so! Whether it was to learn something, to teach something, to rescue something, to build something, we have a purpose. And the somethings are limitless.
You are limitless. So, don’t be afraid to act like it.
And hey, how are you doing?
