the day you came along…

And on the day I was to be induced (but never actually got induced), a little boy (KNEW IT.) came into our lives. Owen Noah Insley entered this plane of existence on August 12th at 2:07 p.m., weighing in at 7 lbs, 3 oz. with a length of 20.5 inches. The miracle of birth, amiright?

Our smiley little dude.

I won’t go into the details of the day, but I will say that no two (or four) labors/deliveries are the same. This experience was quite different from my last three and I am glad to have gone through it. Every moment in this life is a chance to learn something new and grow from it.

Though our given due date was August 4, Owen had other ideas. Every single one of my kids has a 12 and 7 in their birthday somewhere and Owen was not going to be left out. The kid knew exactly what he was doing when he held out for EIGHT days just to hit that 12 mark and didn’t arrive at 2:06 or 2:08… NOPE. He would only have 2:07 on his birth certificate. Pretty extraordinary. He’s already adorable, intelligent, stubborn, and clever. This’ll be one helluva ride!

credit where credit is due…

I want to say “thank you.” I want to give hugs. I want to ugly cry with love at you.

When we moved to Idaho, we barely knew anyone living in the area. But in this past year, we have met the most amazing people and I want to start my gush fest over them…

<3 To the MHD and PC peeps, my amazing work family (including our yoginis!)… you have been so kind in so many ways. From prepping for my water to break in the office and planning the escape route to my beautiful baby shower and the countless offers to help, you all have gone out of your way to support us. THANK YOU.

When just being awesome coworkers isn’t enough.

<3 To the self-proclaimed “Antique Aunties” from Enchanting Objects, THANK YOU for offering your help to us during this crazy time! We are so grateful to have found a home at the shop and look forward to continue growing with you.

<3 To my incredible mother- and father-in-law, who flew out with the intention of being met with a new grandchild, but ended up feeding us while we all sat around waiting until the last day of your trip, THANK YOU. Thank you for doing everything you could have possibly done to help us prepare for our new little love. We are so glad that he showed up before you had to leave.

<3 To my mom and David, who we definitely thought would have missed the birth, made it out here with days to spare, THANK YOU for helping us out the best you could in the first few days of Owen’s life. Every effort was much appreciated!

<3 To the rest of our family, THANK YOU for your love and support and desire to be updated on the baby situation often! We are so grateful to have you all in our lives.

<3 To our friends, Y’ALL ARE THE BEST. We appreciate all of your kind words, well wishes, good vibes, and positivity. We could not have asked for anything more.
